Guild D-1212 Natural

was £838.00

Guild's D-1212 is a wonderful full mahogany 12-string guitar. Since they were introduced way back in 1964, Guild's 12-strings have remained one of their most popular models over the last 50 years; and for good reason. Tonally the D-1212 has a great sparkly high end that's associated with 12-string guitars while the full mahogany dreadnought body gives it plenty of bass end to achieve a full balanced sound, a 12-string with this much clarity and depth at this price is hard to come buy. Guild have managed to keep the tone so balanced partly due to the size of the body, but also the focus on it being purely acoustic. No holes have been drilled through the sides (bar the strap lock) this helps retain maximum projection and tone.

To accommodate the extra six strings the neck is slightly wider than most acoustics, this is a minor change and doesn't make the fretboard to big to play but makes it feel comfy while having enough space between the strings; it almost feels like playing a six string. For those unfamiliar with 12-strings the D-1212 is a great place to start. The price may not indicate a starter guitar but if you have a history with guitar playing and want a model that is built impeccably and doesn't suffer from dodgy frets or bad tonewood then Guild have you covered. A 12-string with plently of projection and a sweet balanced tone.
