FROM THE LEGENDARY GARY LEVINSON...
THE BLADE 'TEXAS PRO'Introducing the ‘Texas Pro' from the esteemed ‘Blade’ guitars, founded by industry icon Gary Levinson.
In 1987 Mr Levinson set forth to create his own range of guitars focussing on the highest integrity build, alongside the most innovative developments. Later that year, Blade guitars were unveiled to expectant eyes and ears at the Tokyo Music Show, and the rest, as they say…is history.
Fast forward to the present day, and the results of Gary’s unwavering commitment to building the finest quality guitars, full of revolutionary innovations are plain to see in guitars such as this, the stunning Blade 'Texas Pro'. The Texas Pro features the revolutionary ‘Variable Spectrum Control’ (VSC), Adjustable Tension Guide (ATG), and other innovations such as the ‘EZ Access Neck Rod’ for quick and simple access to the truss rod.
This is a truly professional guitar, for the guitarist who seeks truly classic rock tones, unique functionalities, show-stopping looks and flawless playability! The Texas Pro has modern features, modern functionalities and a simply stunning aesthetic, but with that undeniable classic vibe that feels inexplicably familiar when you pick up this spectacular guitar. The Texas Pro from Blade is a definitive manifestation of comfort enhancing ergonomics, perfect balance and unmatched tone.
SHOWSTOPPING LOOKSThe slender, sleek body of the 'Texas Pro' from Blade is made from North American Alder, a popular choice of wood, used still to this day by some of the most revered manufacturers in the world today.
The use of North American Alder offers many advantages, both sonically and otherwise. Firstly, the use of Alder wood makes for a bold, clear and fully-voiced sound, with prominent mid’s and full-bodied lows. Secondly, Alder bodied guitars often weigh less than guitars made of, say, mahogany. Good news for those guitarists who often find themselves performing prolonged sets and for those long, hard days in the studio.
The fingerboard is made from maple, which is a perfect choice of wood for the 'Texas Pro' due to it producing a brighter tone which really accentuates the high-end tonalities, well suited to some screaming blues licks! The neck itself is beautifully made and sit’s in the fretting hand with a brilliantly natural, comfortable feel.
UNMATCHED SUSTAINThe Texas Pro is packed with quite literally, revolutionary technology. For example, the ‘Adjustable Tension Guide’ (ATG), this ATG technology, is unique to Blade guitars. It comprises of a small, spring loaded, height adjustable string tree which sits between the 1st and 2nd strings. This feature allows tension adjustment to compensate for the difference between various string gauges.
Furthermore, its asymmetric shape places slightly greater pressure to the 1st string than the 2nd, this design results in incredible sustain and minimum friction eliminating the majority of detuning problems.
BLADE - 'TEXAS PRO'The Texas Pro represents ‘Blade’ quality from top to bottom. Featuring unique technology, premium components and hardware far beyond its price point, the Texas Pro effortlessly breezes past other guitars in its peer group.
Sporting Levinson’s very own ‘VS-3’ single coils, laid out in the classic fashion, bridge/middle/neck. The Texas Pro was born to rock. Sultry, smooth tones are the name of the game here. Select the bridge pickup for a timeless, ‘glassy’ tone, which cuts through the mix with ease. Hit the neck pickup for a seductively creamy voicing, the stuff tone dreams are made of! Try the middle position for something a little in between the two. Control over the pickups is determined by a 5-way pickup selector. Modify the Texas Pro’s tone even further with the VSC control and the push/pull coil tap and there’s almost nothing the Texas Pro can’t turn her hand to!
The Texas Pro's bridge system is taken care of by Blade’s own rock-solid ‘M-525’ tremolo system. The M-525 offers solid tuning stability, even after some serious whammy-bar abuse! Any concerns regarding any potential tuning issues from whammy-bar action can be firmly laid to rest thanks to the inclusion of the ‘Adjustable Tension Guide’ (ATG), this ATG technology, is unique to Blade guitars. It comprises of a small, spring loaded, height adjustable string tree which sits between the 1st and 2nd strings. This feature allows tension adjustment to compensate for the difference between various string gauges. Fantastic!
If you're in the market for a classic, but versatile guitar, with head-turning looks, magnificent playability and tones that are out of this world, you have to give serious thought to Blade’s ‘Texas Pro'!
